What are the Benefits of Insulating Concrete Forms?
- Exfoliation of high R-value (R-17 to R-28). In other words, a building constructed with ICFs will have minimal drafts because of the continuous air barriers and foam insulation, as well as a high thermal mass, reducing peak heating and cooling loads. This means that ICF homes see 80-70% energy savings when compared to a stick-frame home.
- Twice the sound resistance property of wood frames, achieving sound transmission classification of 50.
- No vapor barrier needed. ICFs are natural moisture barriers.

About Us
James Ryan is a construction executive from West Hartford, Connecticut, with an extensive background in commercial and residential construction.
Having served in the U.S. Navy Seabees for five years Mr. Ryan is thoroughly versed in the planning and construction of complicated structures. Under adverse conditions and restrictive time constraints he has successfully managed the completion of bridges, operations facilities and emergency housing.
Among his special assignments was the construction of security facilities at President Ronald Reagan’s ranch in Santa Barbara, California. The project included construction of a helicopter pad, hanger, communication and Secret Service facilities.
